Extraordinary Means, California Street, Get That Novel Started!
and Get That Novel Written! Her papers are included in Boston
University's Howard Gotlieb's 20th Century archives.

a novel if that person is willing to combine patience and
persistence with hard work and an open mind. Over the years
many of her students have gone on to publish novels.

Andrea
Hurst has worked in
the publishing business for more than 20 years as an acquisition
and development editor, published writer, ghostwriter, and
literary agent. Her editorial and ghostwriting services
have been used by NY Times best-selling authors as well
as many up and coming writers to advance their careers and
achieve their publishing goals. She is a frequent speaker
and instructor nationwide at writer's conferences, private
venues, and the Whidbey Writers Workshop MFA Program.
An
impeccable book proposal and professional manuscript are
the best way to catch an editor's attention. Many writers
fail to realize that book publishing is a business, and
that about 98 percent of books submitted end up rejected.
It is more important than ever for writers to do their homework
and make sure they are sending out a finely polished version
of their work.
|
Andrea
will use her expertise to help you refine your work and create
a top-notch book product. When working with you, she will evaluate
your manuscript and marketing materials, then discuss your best
options either in person or through a phone consult. Her expertise
in nonfiction genres includes: business/personal finance, parenting,
relationships/women's issues/chic lit, self-help, personal growth/spirituality,
psychology, health/wellness/diet/cookbooks, gift books, true crime,
and memoir.

Statement
of Ethics: Please note that I do not offer representation
to authors that I have worked with privately or in an editorial
or consulting capacity, as this could be a conflict of interest.
